BrainKing was founded in 2002 and has since operated continuously as a game server and a source of information about games of all kinds. Its author is Filip Rachůnek, a programmer, musician, and writer living in Prague, Czech Republic.

This server was created by merging the original BrainKing with the chess blog LookIntoChess.com, which is also one of the author’s side projects. Due to the instability of the previous solution (long-time players will surely remember the outages, which became particularly severe during the final year), the new BrainKing is built on an entirely different technology stack. During the initial phase, the site will primarily feature static content, with dynamic features being introduced gradually over time.

BrainKing is not associated with any other brand and operates completely independently.
